This morning, gunshots woke up a quiet Lansing neighborhood, and tonight they\u2019re speaking out.<\/p>\n
Accoding to city police, they responded to calls of shots fired around 8:38 a.m. in the area of Marion Avenue and Lenore Avenue. No suspects or victims have been located.<\/p>\n
Local residents caught what happened on their home security systems. One man tells 6 news, he saw a guy get out of his car and start shooting at another car.<\/p>\n
\u201cFrom what we could tell, the black car was shooting at the van coming the other way so we don\u2019t know why or what happened. But that\u2019s all we could figure out,\u201d one neighbor said.<\/p>\n
So far, Lansing Police don\u2019t know what led up to the shooting.<\/p>\n
A neighbor, who didn\u2019t want to be identified, said he\u2019s lived in the area since 1996, but this is a first.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s kind of a-typical of the neighborhood here. I mean, it\u2019s usually very quiet and respectful neighborhood,\u201d the neighbor said.<\/p>\n
Veronica Kelly also lives in the neighborhood. She said she moved to the area because of how safe it was, but she admitted what happened today worries her.<\/p>\n
\u201cAlways had felt safe completely so it\u2019s really surprising to see this going on,\u201d Kelly said.<\/p>\n
Other neighbors aren\u2019t as concerned. One neighbor said, \u201cI think about it, but I don\u2019t dwell on it. I think about it but I\u2019m not going to lose any sleep over it.\u201d<\/p>\n
