{"id":3367,"date":"2020-10-31T18:23:07","date_gmt":"2020-10-31T18:23:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/peoriamag.com\/?p=3367"},"modified":"2020-12-14T18:25:08","modified_gmt":"2020-12-14T18:25:08","slug":"lansing-police-msp-identify-suspect-in-holmes-st-shooting-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/peoriamag.com\/?p=3367","title":{"rendered":"Lansing police, MSP identify suspect in Holmes St shooting"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Monday the Lansing Police Department and the Michigan State Police Detective team announced they have identified a a 30 year old male from Lansing as the suspect in a shooting in the 300 block of south Holmes.<\/p>\n<p>On\u00a0<b>Monday, Nov. 9<\/b> at 7:36 p.m., LPD was dispatched to the 300 block of S. Holmes to a shots fired call. Upon arrival, officers located a male victim with apparent gunshot wounds. LPD administered first aid until Lansing Fire Department personnel took over.<\/p>\n<p>The victim, later identified as 39-year-old Marvin Jamie Cortez of Lansing, was transported to a local hospital where he passed away.<\/p>\n<p>The Ingham County Prosecutor issued several formal criminal charges on the suspect:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Homicide \u2013 (Open Murder)<\/li>\n<li>Weapons (Carrying Concealed)<\/li>\n<li>Weapons (Firearms &#8211; Possession)<\/li>\n<li>Weapons \u2013 (Felony Firearm)<\/li>\n<li>Weapons \u2013 (Felony Firearm)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Currently the suspect is in custody on an unrelated matter at an outside jurisdiction.<\/p>\n<p>The suspect is expected to be transported to the Lansing Police Department Detention facility.
